Back in June we announced that we were sponsoring the Mum of the Year category at the 2016 Bridge FM Local Hero Awards.
To celebrate our sponsorship we also hosted our very own Mum of the Year Photo Competition, which was open to all of our customers and social media followers.
Last week we announced our photo winner who won 2 £50 spa vouchers for her and her mum.
This week we’re delighted to announce the official Bridge FM unsung Local Hero Award winner for the category of Mum of the Year, chosen by Bridge FM & The Sinclair Group.
And the winner is…
Meet Natasha. Natasha is 27 year old, works full time and has two young children, Lola who is 4 and Lexi who is 8.
Lexi has 1P36 syndrome, a genetic condition which means that one of her chromosomes is missing. Because of this Lexi is unable to walk, talk or even swallow. A few years ago Lexi won the ‘Child of Courage’ award for her bravery, but Lexi isn’t the only one in the family who shows true courage.
Despite Lexi’s condition, her Mum, Natasha, ensures that the family live life to the full. Nothing stops them from having a good time – they enjoy swimming, ice skating, trips to the beach, park and lots more.
Because of her condition, Lexi sadly suffers from severe seizures, but Natasha is always on hand, even rushing to school to help her daughter.
Natasha is not just a fantastic mother however, she’s also a hard-worker and has a promising career. Natasha juggles family life with a full time position – she’s recently been promoted too!
Last Friday Natasha was officially crowned the 2016 Bridge FM Mum of the Year at a glitzy ceremony at The Best Western Heronston Hotel. Our very own Head of Marketing, Lee Richards, was delighted to present the award and we wish Natasha, Lexi and Lola the very best for 2016. Congratulations Natasha!
