From dressing up as superheroes to cycling across the south Wales valleys – we love helping the charities and organisations that mean something special to our customers and staff.

In addition to our fundraising efforts, we also have a designated a pot of money known as our ‘Community Fund’, which is available to help the communities in which we operate. This can be anything from providing your charity or organisation with a great raffle prize or even helping you kit out your local sports team with new equipment.

BAYV donates a TV to Dearne Valley

It's smiles all round as Dearne Valley Day Nursery receive their new TV from Buy As You View!

We have recently donated a total of £1800 to charities across Yorkshire, including a TV donation to the Dearne Valley Day Nursery, nearly £250 to the 36th Barnsley (Ardsley) Air Scouts, another three large LCD TVs were donated to a local junior football team, boxing club and to Barnsley Hospice.

We have also been busy raising money for the Welsh children’s hospice, Ty Hafan, which has been particularly special to us after a customer of ours suffered a family tragedy and turned to us for some support.

Over the last few months, we have raised over £900 for Ty Hafan by hosting a pub quiz at a local pub, holding ‘dress down’ days at our headquarters in South Wales and by selling a 2012 calendar to all members of our staff. We have some exciting fundraising plans for the rest of 2012 too, which include a ‘Superhero Friday’ where staff will dress up as their favourite superheroes for Children’s Hospice Week (18-25 May) and a 40 mile cycle ride across the south Wales valleys in the summer.

If you have any charities or organisations which you think could really benefit from our support then please contact rachel.morris@bayv.co.uk or contact your account manager directly. Alternatively, if you’re after some top ideas on how to raise the needed cash for any organisation which you might be involved in, why not try the following?

–      Bake sale in your local community hall, your workplace or school

–      Sponsored swim, run, walk or cycle ride

–      Produce handmade greetings cards and sell them to your neighbours

–      Hold a Big Jubilee Lunch for the Queens Jubilee on June 3, which will not only bring the whole community together for some fun but it will give you the chance to fund raise all day long! Holding a raffle is always a great place to start along with a bake sale and fancy dress competitions.

Happy fundraising all!
